
WDV Athletics – Spring Sports Season Begins to Wrap Up
Hello Wolves Community!
April has been a packed month of incredible athletic efforts, lasting memories, and big moments for our student-athletes. As spring seasons charge ahead and we prepare to celebrate our graduating seniors, there's a lot to be proud of—and even more to look forward to. From the final serves on the sand to record-setting laps in the pool, our Wolves are representing with heart, hustle, and pride.
Whether you're cheering from the sidelines, coaching on the court, or supporting behind the scenes, thank you for being a part of this vibrant community. Here's what’s happening across our spring sports programs and what’s coming next in Wiseburn Da Vinci Athletics.
Archery
Our archers have been steadily progressing in form and accuracy as we prepare for the spring tournaments. Participation is strong, and we’re seeing great development from both new and returning athletes.
- Team Update: Your WDV Archery team was very busy and once again had an amazing showing for the 2025 Olympic Archery in Schools California State Championships where they placed 2nd in the state for Men's JV and Varsity and 3rd in the state for Women's JV and Varsity. It was a tough field and a very long day. On April 25 the team headed out to Oranco Bowman Range to compete in the Oranco Invitational!
Standout Performances from 2025 Olympic Archery in Schools State Championships:
This tournament featured a 12-round ranking competition, followed by intense seeded Singles and Team matches. It was a long and demanding day that lasted from 7am through 7pm, but our Wolves once again supported one another and made us all proud.
We are especially proud of the many students who achieved their personal records during the event.

Track & Field
Track and field athletes are sprinting, jumping, and throwing their way through a strong season. We’ve seen multiple personal bests and top finishes at recent meets. Go Wolves!

- 3 WDV Wolves took the top spots in the Men’s Varsity 800m - Damian Espino (1st), Ethan Lumpkin (2nd and PR) and Nathanael Lincourt (3rd)

Girls Beach Volleyball
Girls Beach Volleyball wrapped up its season with strong finishes and tough matches. Playing with determination and drive. Congratulations to the entire team on an incredible showing this season!
- Team Update: Congratulations to our Varsity Girls Beach No. 1 pair of Alina Hunter and Zenya Hunter. They competed in the Pioneer League Beach Volleyball Pairs Tournament and earned a third-place finish. Well done!
Boys Volleyball
Boys volleyball surged through the season with strong net play, big blocks, and powerful serves. The team ended tied for 3rd place with Torrance in the Pioneer League. Though they couldn’t overcome in the tie-breaking match, they are petitioning to compete in the playoffs as a wildcard! Stay tuned!
- Team Update: Senior night honored two seniors, Andre Pimienta, Jr. and Matt Divinagracia. The game against Bishop Diego was a nail biting 5 set match with senior captain, Andre, leading the way with 33 kills, 5 ace serves and 16 digs. Our other senior standout, Matt Divinagracia, had 13 digs and setter Dylan Soriano had 46 assists for the night. In a league tie breaker match with Torrance, Sai Santiago picked up 11 kills and Dylan Soriano had 28 assists.
The team earned an at large bid in the CIF Southern Section playoffs where they played Bishop Diego at Home on Tuesday, April 29th at 6:00 p.m and won! Our Wolves are on the prowl in the next round!

- Andre Pimienta leads the team in: kills per set, hitting percentage, total blocks, digs per set, digs and kills.
- Sai Santiago leads the team in: serving aces, aces per set, and receptions
- Dylan Soriano leads the team in: assists

Baseball
Baseball season is rolling, with our teams showing grit and growth each week. From tight defensive battles to clutch hits, our Wolves are staying competitive and bringing energy to every game.
- Team Update: The Wiseburn Da Vinci Wolves Varsity baseball team claimed a thrilling 3-2 walk-off win over Peninsula, showcasing resilience and clutch performance. Edward Sanchez sealed the victory with a game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the eighth. WDV rallied from a 2-0 deficit, tying the game in the fifth thanks to disciplined at-bats and smart baserunning. Beckett Miller was dominant in relief, earning the win with four scoreless innings, while the Wolves' offense tallied 11 hits—led by multi-hit efforts from Sanchez, Xavier Horton, Thomas Carpenter IV, Peyton Tate, and James Mara. The Wolves’ gritty comeback and strong team effort highlight their competitive spirit and depth. The Wolves Varsity baseball team finished April with a solid 15-9 record.
This month marked some big Pioneer League wins for the boys in blue: on 4/2 an 11-5 win over El Segundo and back to back wins over Peninsula on 4/14 and 4/16.

- David Holliday leads the team in: on base percentage, stolen bases and earned run average.
- Lonnie Jackson leads the team in: home runs and runs batted in.
- Peyton Tate leads the team in: fielding percentage, runs, and hits.
- Xavier Horton leads the team in: doubles.
- Deklen Emerson leads the team in: triples.

Swim
Swim season is making waves! Our athletes are posting solid times and pushing themselves in the pool with great team spirit. We’re looking forward to a strong finish heading into championships.
- Team Update: WDV Swim held SENIOR Night in April and what a night it was! Thank you to all the families and friends who sent our graduating athletes off in style! Pioneer League Preliminaries happened on April 28 and our athletes did a great job. Stay tuned for the results from the League Finals on April 30. The team also had a great beach practice during spring break!

Softball
Softball continues to build momentum as the team puts in work on and off the field. Despite Spring Break falling in the month of April, the WDV softball played a full schedule of games. From standout pitching to timely hitting, the team’s chemistry and hustle are on full display.
- Team Update: The Wolves went 4 for 8 in the month of April. Beating Peninsula, Culver City, and Hawthorne!!

- Addison Wilson leads the team in: batting average, hits, RBIs, doubles and on base percentage.
- Jasmine Veal leads the team in: home runs, stolen bases and runs
- Gabriella Silva leads the team in: earned run average
- Nyla Arwine leads the team in: fielding percentage
- Anali Jimenez leads the team in: triples

Free Sports Physicals
Free sports physicals will be offered by Exer Urgent Care beginning in May. This is a great opportunity for all incoming and returning athletes to get ready for the upcoming seasons. Up to date sports physicals are required for tryouts and participation on all WDV Athletics teams. More information HERE.
