The Arts Are Alive at WDV!

On Friday, Nov. 21, the stage at the El Segundo Performing Arts Center came to beautiful life as more than 175 student performers in grades TK–12 — along with 18 participating family members — wowed the audience at our third annual Winter Performing Arts Showcase.

This year’s theme was COURAGE.

Act One featured our WDV Choirs (TK-2, 3-8, and the high school “Voices of Da Vinci”) performing works by PJ Morton, India Arie, QUEEN, and Woodie Guthrie. Highlights included vocal soloists, piano accompaniment by 12th grader Kyle Weinstein, and a full-choir rendition of This Land Is Your Land arranged by 11th grader Mykell Jackson.

Act Two featured performing artists in grades TK-8 performing scenes and musical numbers from Annie, Damn Yankees, and Hairspray. Our TK–2 performers also shared video stories about courage. The traditional family number was a medley from Rent, and the high school cast of Into the Woods offered a sneak preview of their upcoming production (Feb. 27–Mar. 8, 2026).

Brava to our student crew for their outstanding work on stage and behind the scenes. We are deeply grateful for every performer, family member, and supporter who made this showcase such a joyful celebration of the arts – and thank you, audience, for being there with support and applause!

The winter excitement continues—don’t miss these upcoming performances. All performances will take place at the Blackbox Theater at 201 N. Douglas St., El Segundo.
