Celebrating the Future: Commitment Days Highlight Senior Successes

Each spring, schools nationwide celebrate Commitment Day to honor graduating seniors and their post-high school plans. Whether heading to community college, a four-year university, the workforce, Da Vinci’s new LifeLaunch programs, or the military, Da Vinci graduates are ready for college, career and life.

At Da Vinci, our Senior Commitment Days–also known as Senior Decision Days or Pathway Days–are joyful, high-energy celebrations that reflect the heart and spirit of our community. They’re about honoring each student’s unique journey and the many paths that lead to a bright future. Earlier this month, Class of 2025 graduates from Da Vinci Communications, Connect, Design, RISE, and Science proudly stepped forward—wearing college gear, company badges, and military insignia—to share their next steps with friends, teachers and staff who have supported them along the way.

These moments were deeply personal and powerful. Seniors and school leaders spoke about gratitude and growth, reflecting on their time at Da Vinci and what lies ahead. From parades, to heartfelt speeches, senior cap decorating, photos, and shared meals, each school’s celebration had its own special vibe—and all were filled with pride, laughter, love, and anticipation for the future.

By recognizing all pathways equally, our Commitment Days send a powerful message: every postsecondary plan is valuable and worthy of celebration. This inclusive approach uplifts each student’s unique journey, fosters a culture of belonging and ambition, and inspires underclassmen to envision bright futures of their own.

Da Vinci Design senior Daniel Wong will be heading to UC San Diego this fall, where he plans to pursue a career in electrical engineering. A lifelong tinkerer with a passion for building and problem-solving, Daniel reflects fondly on his time at Da Vinci. “It’s a very inclusive environment,” he shares. “I’m really going to miss the community here.”

Nelson Martinez, a longtime Wiseburn USD Board Member and proud parent of a graduating Da Vinci Science senior, reflected on the DVS Commitment Day with deep appreciation. “It was such a great day of celebrating our seniors—a powerful reminder and wonderful tribute to their hard work and growth,” he shared. “Witnessing their college commitments, hearing their personal stories, being inspired by Natalie's speech, and listening to Grace's heartfelt recap of their four-year journey was incredibly moving. It all highlighted the bright future they’ve earned and the values they’ll carry forward in their future endeavors. A heartfelt congratulations to all 2025 Da Vinci graduates and their families!”
