Belkin Spring Fling Opens a Window Into the Futures Students Are Beginning to Imagine

The Belkin Spring Fling offered more than a day of activities—it gave students a glimpse into their future. On April 21, students in grades 6-12 stepped into Belkin’s headquarters as active participants, engaging in hands-on career experiences, connecting with professionals, and exploring real-world pathways.

This dynamic event brought together 70+ students from Da Vinci, Wiseburn, and El Segundo schools—creating a powerful, shared learning experience rooted in community, collaboration, and future-ready learning.

Throughout the day, students moved beyond the classroom and into hands-on career experiences that invited them to ask questions, connect directly with professionals, and explore how their interests might translate into real-world pathways.

A highlight of the day was the industry panel, “From Passion to Paycheck: Turning Your Interests into a Career,” featuring Kelly Allen (NFL), Antoine Gijbels (entrepreneur, videographer, and podcast producer), Rafael McMaster (Indivisible Arts), and Asees Singh (Belkin International). Panelists shared honest reflections on the twists and turns of their career journeys—emphasizing that success is rarely linear. Messages like “rejection is direction” and the importance of staying curious and open to new experiences resonated deeply, giving students a powerful framework for navigating their own paths.

From there, the day shifted into exploration. In workshops led by Belkin professionals, students didn’t just hear about careers—they built skills connected to them. Some drafted resumes and LinkedIn profiles, learning how to tell their own stories. Others explored product design, branding, and photography, discovering how creativity and strategy intersect. In sessions on sustainability and conscientious design, students examined the impact of everyday choices—connecting innovation with responsibility. A behind-the-scenes look at Belkin’s work brought it all together, showing how ideas move from concept to product.

Conversations continued over lunch and a networking fair, where students found themselves in dialogue with professionals from companies like Disney, Fabletics, Snap Inc., Lost In, Linc, Pass It Forward, Indivisible Arts, and The Civics Center. These weren’t formal interviews—they were real conversations, where students asked questions, shared interests, and began to see themselves as part of a broader professional community.

More than a field trip, the Belkin Spring Fling was a day of inspiration, exploration, and applied learning—leaving students energized to continue discovering their interests and possibilities ahead.
