WDV Athletics – Looking Ahead to the 2025-26 Athletics Season
We hope our student-athletes and their families had some restful time off and enjoyed the summer break. Many of our athletes have used this time to stay active through Summer in Wiseburn activities and preseason athletic trainings, staying engaged with what promises to be another action-packed year for Wiseburn Da Vinci Athletics.
🏐 Girls Volleyball
- Team Update: Our coaching staff was extremely pleased with the large turnout for both the May and July tryouts, with over 80 girls in the gym during the July tryouts alone. Altogether, we had over 100 girls participating, the highest number that we have had to date. This year’s tryouts were extremely competitive, and our rosters are slightly larger than we anticipated because of all the talent that we had in our gym. The volleyball game is growing at Wiseburn Da Vinci High School!
The Frosh/Soph, JV and Varsity teams have started summer practices and the girls continue to improve every day. The Varsity girls are gearing up for their first tournament of the year which will be held in Honolulu, Hawaii. This will be the third time that the Varsity team will be traveling to the Hawaiian island and we expect a highly competitive tournament that includes some of the best Hawaiian teams as well as other mainland teams.
We’re proud of their dedication and can’t wait to see them represent WDV on the court. Good luck, ladies – we’re cheering you on every step of the way!
🐺Cheer
- Team Update: We had a fantastic turnout for the WDV Cheerleading program this season! Our student-athletes showed up with incredible energy, spirit, and athleticism, setting the tone for an exciting year ahead. Congratulations to everyone who came out and gave it their all—your effort and enthusiasm did not go unnoticed!
We’re also thrilled to welcome our new cheer coaching staff to the Wolves family:
Aliyah Gardea joins us as the Varsity Head Coach. Coach Aliyah brings a rich background in multiple disciplines of cheerleading, both as a coach and a current athlete. Her passion for the sport and strong leadership are sure to take our program to new heights.
Juliet McLaurin, a proud Da Vinci Design graduate, comes on as the JV Head Coach. She lead the Da Vinci Dance team her junior and senior year! With her strong background in cheer and expertise in dance choreography, Coach Juliet is a fantastic addition to our growing team.
We’re so excited to see the WDV Cheer program continue to evolve and shine. Go Wolves!
👟 Cross Country
- Team Update: We’re excited to announce a new chapter for our Cross Country program! Coach Jasiri Daire is stepping up from his role as JV Coach to become the new Varsity Head Coach for the 2025–26 season.
Coach Daire brings a deep passion for distance running and a strong commitment to athlete development. He’s already looking ahead with enthusiasm as he prepares for upcoming tryouts and builds momentum for the new season.
We’re thrilled to have him leading the way and can’t wait to see what the team accomplishes under his guidance. Tryouts will be announced soon, so stay tuned to the WDV Athletics blog and @wdvathletics on Instagram!
🐺⚡️Kicking Off the 2025-26 Season
As we gear up for the start of the 2025–26 school year, I couldn’t be more excited to officially get the new athletic season underway. Our programs continue to grow in strength, spirit, and participation—and it’s a privilege to witness the passion our student-athletes bring to every tryout, practice, and competition.
This year, I look forward to watching our athletes perform at their best, grow as individuals, and emerge as leaders on and off the field. Thank you to our coaches, families, and entire WDV community for the continued support.
Let’s make this our best year yet—Go Wolves!
See you at the games,
