Da Vinci Alumni Share Advice for Starting the School Year Strong
The new school year is officially underway, and our fantastic Da Vinci Alumni community is helping today’s students start the year with a little extra inspiration. Over the past few weeks, alumni have shared thoughtful advice, encouragement, and reflections from their own Da Vinci journeys—and we’re excited to pass their wisdom along.
What Alumni Wish They Knew Then
One message came through again and again: You don’t have to have everything figured out on day one. Alumni reminded us that the school year is a journey—one filled with opportunities to learn, grow, try new things, and discover what you’re capable of. Confidence comes with practice, and there’s plenty of room at Da Vinci to explore, make mistakes, and find your path.
Advice for Today’s Da Vinci Students
Our Da Vinci alumni offered guidance rooted in experience, honesty, and heart:
- “Do not be afraid to take risks! I know taking risks can be something that is super vulnerable and scary, but if there's one perfect place to do it, it's Da Vinci! Making mistakes and failing is proof that you are trying and improving!”
- “Do extracurriculars you enjoy, not to get into a certain college. Use projects as a chance to learn how to work with and motivate a wide range of people (even if it seems easier to just do it all yourself) because you're going to see the same challenges in the workspace.”
- “Take advantage of as many unique opportunities as you can; there are so many resources available to you as a Da Vinci student!”
- "Try everything! You never know what you’ll end up enjoying until you actually test it out. Getting out of your comfort zone will really help you in the future, so do that now while you have a stronger support network! ☺️"
- “Study, study, study. Even if you know the material, study it. You need to study how to study.”
- “Live in the moment. Don’t get caught up in relationships. Find your true self and don’t be afraid to make new friends and try new things.”
These words of wisdom remind us that Da Vinci isn’t just a school — it’s a community built on connection, collaboration, and trust. Our alumni continue to shape that legacy by uplifting the next generation of DV students.
