A Community That Shows Up: Supporting Da Vinci Families in Need
A bag of groceries. A warm jacket. A gift card that helps a family purchase essentials during an uncertain week. Across Da Vinci Schools, generous community members and partners help make these meaningful acts of care possible. Together, we are helping students stay engaged in school during housing instability and financial hardship while supporting families as they work toward stability.
Since November 2025, our family support tracker has documented $10,400 in contributions. From December 2025 through October 21, 2026, it records $4,150 in gift card assistance across 42 completed distributions, alongside more than $819 in grocery purchases. This support has reached youth and families across Da Vinci schools and programs, providing pantry staples and other necessities when they are needed most. In addition, our partner Chicas Verdes has hosted free produce giveaway events, extending our collective reach and helping provide fresh food to families in need throughout our broader community.
For students experiencing homelessness or housing instability, Da Vinci’s McKinney-Vento support process also connects families with resources that help sustain school participation. School teams can request backpacks, classroom supplies, clothing, shoes, hygiene products, glasses, transportation assistance, and emergency food. Meeting these needs helps students maintain their connection to learning, trusted adults, and their school community through periods of change. Over the past two years, Da Vinci has invested nearly $2,000 in purchases to help meet these essential student needs.
We extend enormous appreciation to our school counselors, whose compassion and responsiveness help families find a path forward. Through resource navigation, crisis response, and ongoing relationships, counselors recognize needs, connect families with assistance, and follow through during challenging moments. Their work, alongside our broader school teams, turns available resources into personal, timely support.
