Wolves in Action: Spring Season Highlights

April Spring Sports Update

As we head into the final stretch of the 2025–26 spring season, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the energy, growth, and accomplishments of Wiseburn Da Vinci Athletics. Across softball, baseball, swim, track & field, archery, cheer, esports, and boys volleyball, our student-athletes have competed with heart, determination, and pride.

From big wins on the field to personal bests in the pool and on the track, this season has been filled with standout moments. As playoffs and championship opportunities approach, we celebrate not just results—but the resilience, sportsmanship, and commitment shown every day.

Thank you to our coaches, families, and supporters for being such an important part of this journey. Let’s finish strong—Go Wolves! 🐺


🏐 Boys Volleyball

April was a standout month for WDV boys volleyball, with both Varsity and JV teams showing incredible grit and growth. Varsity finished the regular season 25-9-1, earning 3rd place in the Pioneer League and advancing to CIF playoffs after a thrilling five-set Senior Night victory over Torrance.

Senior Night honored 12 graduating athletes and ended with an unforgettable, hard-fought win. JV also had a strong season, finishing 20-7 and building a solid foundation for the future. Momentum is high as the Wolves head into playoffs! 🐺


🥎 Softball

The Wolves continued to build momentum this April with strong performances and steady growth. Highlights included a dominant 11-0 win over Mira Costa and competitive matchups against Redondo Union and Leuzinger.

A major milestone: the team debuted their new home field at the Wiseburn Sports Complex on April 29. Thank you to everyone who came out to support! 🥎🐺


🎯 Archery

WDV archers competed at the USA Archery OAS California State Championship in Chula Vista with impressive results:

  • Amelie Casillas — 2nd place (JV Women)
  • Cooper Colinsky — 2nd place (Varsity Men)
  • Team (Colinsky, Garcia, Dikdan) — 2nd place

Team placements included:

  • 2nd: JV Boys & Girls
  • 2nd: Varsity Boys
  • 4th: Varsity Girls

Next up: Olympic Archery in School Nationals—good luck, Wolves! 🏹🐺


📣 Cheer

WDV Cheer brought the energy to the SHARP State Championships at Knott’s Berry Farm, taking home 1st place and Overall Champion honors! An incredible achievement against tough competition—congratulations, Wolves! 📣🐺

 


⚾ Baseball

The Wolves wrapped April with a 12-12 overall record, sitting 4th in league, showing resilience and growth across all levels.

Highlights:

  • Varsity win at Angel Stadium of Anaheim vs. Segerstrom
  • Lyriq Jordan leads in HRs, RBIs, doubles (committed to Campbellsville University)
  • David Holiday leads in batting average, hits, and stolen bases

Across Varsity, JV, and Frosh/Soph, the focus remains on execution, consistency, and accountability—building the program #BrickByBrick. 🐺⚾


🎮 Esports

WDV Esports dominated the Battle of the South Bay, taking home the championship title!

  • Team A (Ben Alonso & Solomon Cannad) and Team B (Makoa Burruel & Brandon Ceron) both won their matchups
  • Team A claimed the final championship title

The team earned $1,000 and gaming gear—plus serious bragging rights! 🎮🏆


🏃 Track & Field

April brought strong performances across major meets:

Tiger Invitational:

  • 3rd — Girls 4x100 Relay
  • 7th — Girls 4x400 Relay
  • Aaliyah Welch placed in both 200m & 400m

South Bay Championships:

  • Aaliyah Welch — 2nd (400m Finals)
  • Multiple top-5 finishes across sprint and distance events
  • 2nd place finishes in relay finals

The Wolves continue to build momentum heading into Bay League Finals! 🏃🐺


🏊‍♀️ Swim

April marked a strong finish to the regular season and transition into championships. The team delivered season-best times, strong relay performances, and celebrated Senior Night.

At Pioneer League Prelims and Finals, swimmers continued to shine across freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, and relays—showcasing depth, growth, and team unity. 🏊‍♀️🐺
