Wiseburn Da Vinci Performing Arts: Setting the Stage for a Record-Breaking Year
The 2026-27 school year is officially underway, and Wiseburn Da Vinci Performing Arts is bigger than ever! We are thrilled to welcome a record number of students participating in our ensembles and productions this year, including nearly 60 musicians in Studio Orchestra, over 40 singers in the Voices of Da Vinci HS Choir, and more than 120 students participating in our spring production of Mamma Mia! as Cast and Crew.
Open Mics Are Back
Our 201 high school Wednesday Lunch Open Mics are back! Open Mics are a great opportunity for experienced performers to share their talents, and for students who have never performed before to take a chance in a fun, supportive environment. Open Mics take place during Wednesday lunch, with Da Vinci Communications on the first Wednesday of each month, Da Vinci Science on the second Wednesday, and Da Vinci Design on the third Wednesday. Whether you’re performing or just coming out to support your friends, we can’t wait to see you there!
K-8 Performing Arts Are Underway
Voices of Da Vinci Primary Choir (K-2) and Voices of Da Vinci Junior Choir (3-8) are back for another year of singing, performing, and making music together. Our Theatre programs are also underway, with separate K-2, 3-5, and 6-8 Theatre classes giving students at every age the opportunity to build confidence, develop their creativity, and bring stories to life onstage. And on Wednesdays, students can explore even more ways to perform through our Dance and Acting/Improv classes.
MAMMA MIA! Cast Auditions and Crew Interviews
This September, the Musical Theatre program welcomed 125 students from ALL SIX Da Vinci high schools for Cast auditions and Crew interviews. Magnificent moments were shared with familiar faces and new hopefuls across all grade levels! The week-long process and preparation provided an excellent opportunity for our students to learn, discover, and grow. We are so grateful to all who attended.
Studio Orchestra: Bigger and Better Than Ever!
From humble beginnings as a 6-member club, our 2026/27 Studio Orchestra is bursting at the seams with 56 members! Thanks to pre K-12 arts programing at Wiseburn Unified School District, this is one of the best crops of new students we have ever seen, and we are so excited for all that is to come over this year! As you know, we try to raise the bar for each performance, and our repertoire of rock, pop, jazz, and classical music for our upcoming Winter Concert, on December 8th at 6:30pm, will be absolute fire!
Our Blackbox Got a Makeover
Our Blackbox home got a makeover! Over the summer, we completed a series of renovations and upgrades both inside and outside our Performing Arts space. In the hallway, large new signage, a transparent bulletin board featuring our calendar of events, and vibrant metal prints will help showcase our students and programs while creating a more welcoming and engaging experience for audiences and visitors. Inside the Blackbox, support from last year’s Strong Workforce grant allowed us to significantly upgrade our sound and lighting equipment. These improvements give our students the opportunity to learn and create with more advanced technical tools, while giving our program the flexibility to take on increasingly ambitious concerts, productions, and events for years to come!
