Evelyn Hernandez-Rosas

Real World Learning Coordinator, Da Vinci Schools

Evelyn is a first-generation Latina from South Central Los Angeles with a passion for education and equity. She earned her B.A. from UC Davis, double majoring in Sociology and Chicana/o Studies. During her undergraduate studies, she studied abroad in Ecuador, where she researched cultural perspectives of childhood in Amazonian communities in comparison to Western cultural perspectives, and in London, where she explored gender roles and representation in marketing. She also earned an M.A. in Organization and Leadership from the University of San Francisco School of Education. For her master’s thesis, she examined the impact of academic dismissal policies by capturing the experiences of first-generation Latinx students navigating higher education. As a graduate research assistant, she examined the implementation and impact of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) on school discipline, climate, and culture as well as the influence of YAO grant initiatives on teacher retention and school discipline.

Today, she is part of the Da Vinci Career Education team and serves as the Real World Learning Coordinator. In this role, she supports students through career coaching and career exploration, connecting them with meaningful opportunities such as internships, fellowships, volunteer experiences, and more. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time at the farm, where she loves riding horses, feeding the chickens and goats, and gardening. She is also passionate about sports, health and wellness, plants, and is a proud dog mom of four.
