Game On! WDV Student-Athletes Bring Energy & Excellence This Fall
Fall sports are in full swing, and it has been incredible to see our student-athletes competing with passion, teamwork, and pride. From the excitement at the meets and on the courts to the energy in the stands, this season is already shaping up to be a memorable one!
As we cheer on our fall teams through the rest of their schedules, we’re also looking ahead to the start of our winter sports season. Tryouts for winter sports are underway, and we encourage all interested students to come out and get involved. Whether you are a returning player or looking to try something new, winter is a great time to join a team, make new friends, and represent Wiseburn Da Vinci Athletics!
🏐 Girls Volleyball
- Our Varsity Girls Volleyball team continues to battle hard this season! While league play has been challenging so far, the team remains focused and motivated to succeed. With an overall record of 12–12, they’ve shown their ability to compete at a high level and have already picked up some impressive wins throughout the season.
The players are using every match as a learning opportunity, building chemistry, and sharpening their skills as they prepare for the second half of league play. We’re excited to see this group keep growing, competing, and bringing energy to the court.
Come out and support them at their next home match — your cheers make a difference!

🐺 Cheer
-
The WDV Cheer team has been hard at work this season, preparing an exciting routine for the upcoming Community Dialogues while focusing on building strength, refining technique, and sharpening stunts. We’ve also begun bringing school spirit to the sidelines at girls’ volleyball games, and the energy has been incredible! With competition season just around the corner, the team is training with dedication and enthusiasm, and we’re excited to showcase our progress in the weeks ahead.
Please reach out to Head Coach Aliyah Gardea at agardea@davincischools.org if you are interested in having WDV Cheer to any upcoming events!

👟 Cross Country
- Our Cross Country team has been putting in the work since tryouts, training hard and building endurance to get ready for competition season. Their first meet was on September 27 at Griffith Park, and the athletes are eager to test their speed and showcase all the progress they’ve made.
We’re excited to cheer them on as they kick off what promises to be an exciting season of racing!
🏐 Boys Beach Volleyball
- The Boys Beach Volleyball season is back! Competition kicked off in September, with matches once again taking place on the iconic sands of Manhattan Beach, Dockweiler and Hermosa Beach. The team is excited to be back on the beach, competing hard and representing Wiseburn Da Vinci with pride.
Be sure to come down, enjoy the ocean breeze, and cheer on the Wolves as they battle it out this season!

🏈 Girls Flag Football
- Our inaugural Girls Flag Football season is officially underway! The team has begun training and is excited to learn the fundamentals of the sport, build their skills, and grow together as a program. This year’s season will feature intramural-style game play, giving our athletes the chance to compete, develop, and prepare for next year’s CIF-sanctioned season.
We can’t wait to see this group take the field and make history as the very first Wiseburn Da Vinci Girls Flag Football team!
🏀 Boys Basketball
- The Boys Basketball team has been working hard since school started, preparing for their toughest schedule yet! Tryouts were fierce and with the addition of the Frosh/Soph team the program will have more players participating than ever before. The teams are talented, balanced and excited for a chance to compete versus the best this season.
- The Varsity team returns four players from last year's 20-win team that qualified for the playoffs out of the always tough Bay League. Those players include Seniors- Jameson Johnson, Aidan Ebrahimi, Ari Wilson and Jake Shimizu. Recently the team along with some select Junior Varsity players have been working out in the gym, on the track and even at beach workouts to get in great condition for the season.
- All three levels will continue to play in the Bay League, considered one of the toughest public-school leagues in all of Southern California. The Varsity team will continue to host their annual Thanksgiving tournament which includes Rolling Hills Prep, Pacifica Christian of Orange County and Palos Verdes. The Junior Varsity will host their tournament the week after and are thrilled to expand to a 16-team format which will be one of the elite Junior Varsity events in the pre-season. In addition, the Varsity will be participating in tournaments at St. Monica, St. John Bosco and Damien. The team hopes that with a rigorous pre-league schedule they will be ready for league and to qualify for the ninth straight season for the CIF playoffs.

🏀 Girls Basketball
- Girls Basketball is gearing up for an exciting season! The Varsity roster has officially been selected, and the team already hitting the court and preparing for their first games. Coaches Duane, Row and Terrica are thrilled about the talent, energy, and determination this group brings, and we can’t wait to see them compete.
