Evelyn Hernandez-Rosas

Real World Learning Coordinator, Da Vinci Schools

I’m a first-generation Latina from South Central Los Angeles with a passion for education and equity. I earned my B.A. from UC Davis, double majoring in Sociology and Chicana/o Studies. During my undergraduate studies, I studied abroad in Ecuador, where I researched cultural perspectives of childhood in Amazonian communities in comparison to Western cultural perspectives, and in London, where I explored gender roles and representation in marketing. I also earned a M.A. in Organization and Leadership from the University of San Francisco’s School of Education. For my master’s thesis, I examined the impact of academic dismissal policies by capturing the experiences of first-generation Latinx students navigating higher education. As a graduate research assistant, I researched the implementation and impact of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) on school discipline, climate, and culture as well as the impact of YAO grant initiatives on teachers and school discipline.

Today, I’m a part of the Da Vinci Career Education team and serve as the Real World Learning Coordinator. In this role, I support students through career coaching, career readiness, and career discovery, connecting them with meaningful opportunities such as internships, fellowships, volunteer experiences, and more. Outside of work, I love spending time at the farm, where I enjoy riding horses, feeding the chickens and goats, watering the trees, and gardening. I am also passionate about sports, health and wellness, plants, and I’m a proud dog mom of four.
