Michael Prendergast

Mike began his career teaching art in the fall of 2006 at Lawndale High School in the same school district where he went to high school. He spent three years at Lawndale then jumped at the opportunity to teach in the neighborhood where he grew up. Michael went to Dana Middle School (Jr. High back then) graduating in 1981. He later graduated from Hawthorne High School. Following graduation, he went to a trade school where he received a certificate in AutoCAD. Michael spent 20 years working in the field of architecture on many high profile entertainment projects for Walt Disney, Universal Studios, Knotts Berry Farm, and Paramount Parks. In 1996, he went back to school, graduating from Santa Monica College in 2001, then earning a BA in Art Education from Long Beach State in 2005. He joined Da Vinci Schools during the inaugural 2009-2010 school year.
