Reimagining Education

RISE graduation class of 2017

On the RISE: First graduating class of RISE High (Class of 2017)

Reimagining education requires creativity and collaboration. Da Vinci Schools have ambitious goals that have long defined our culture of innovation.

A seamless pathway of lifelong learning
We seek to create a seamless pathway of lifelong learning from cradle-to-grave, serving as a resource for children and families from infancy, through K-16 and beyond, as students transition into and through college and gainful employment. Our aim is to shepherd students into happy, independent adults.

Professional learning by educators, for educators
Through the yearly Transforming Learning Conference and Incubator, we seek to support educators who wish to redesign existing schools or incubate new ones. The ultimate goal: equitably prepare all students to thrive in a diverse and changing world. Da Vinci Schools is a founding partner of the Transforming Learning Collaborative, in partnership with Next Generation Learning Challenges and Schools That Can.

An affordable pathway to degree completion
Just 11% of low income students graduate college. Most leave college with debt and no degree. At Da Vinci, we strive to create affordable, flexible pathways leading to AA or Bachelor's degree completion through our post-secondary college and career program known as Da Vinci Extension (DVX). DVX offers two unique pathways through UCLA Extension + El Camino College and College for America at Southern New Hampshire University (CfA). Through UCLA Extension + El Camino College, students can take their general ed courses at Da Vinci and earn up to two years of transferable college credit. CfA offers an AA or BA degree via an online competency-based approach aligned to workforce needs with real world projects and support by Da Vinci coaches. Students gain on-the-job work experience in high-skill, high-demand jobs through paid and unpaid internships that are aligned with each student's interests.   LEARN MORE >

Equity and access
We seek to level the playing field for students who could benefit from an individualized education including homeless, foster, dropout, probation, and other youth who have struggled in a traditional school setting.
