Tyler Kanemasu-Mar teaches Biology at Da Vinci Communications and is passionate about engaging students with science to help them build healthier and more informed lives for themselves and their communities. He believes that understanding the scientific process is essential for our students to think critically and actively engage with the world and environments around them. He has always been passionate about character development and believes that growing the spirit is equally as important as growing the mind. Teaching has been the greatest opportunity and joy for him to be able to nurture that growth in all of his students and he is proud to be able to do that here at DVC. He was born and raised in Fremont, CA, and graduated from UCLA with a degree in Physiology. Since then, he has worked in the non-profit sector, specifically fighting against the childhood obesity epidemic in the U.S and tries to live out holistic wellness in both his personal and professional life. He enjoys growing as a teacher together with his wife, Janelle, who teaches second grade.
