Jimena Elian is thrilled to join the creative, passionate team at Da Vinci Design. Jimena was born and raised in Peru. At 14, she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where she dedicated herself to academics while soaking in the cultural wealth of her new hometown. She graduated from UC Berkeley with a B.A. in Economics and worked in small business and non-profit management before discovering her calling in education. She then went on to earn her M.A. degree and teaching credential at USC.
Her experiences as a young immigrant along with her natural curiosity drove Jimena to read avidly and pursue new interests. She has cultivated a passion for writing, communication, and reading a variety of genres, with historical fiction being a favorite. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in unlocking every learner’s potential through student-centered, inquiry-based practices.
Outside the classroom, Jimena enjoys running long distance, experimenting in the kitchen, practicing yoga, and attending race car track days while growing her knowledge about all things motorsport.
