James Oliver grew up in verdant Portland, Oregon before relocating to LA in December 2021. In college, he studied English and Spanish with a plan of one day becoming a teacher. During his collegiate pursuit, he spent a year and a half studying in Spain as an international student, so he knows what it is like for you English language learners! This experience sparked an interest in international travel resulting in several years working and traveling in places like Australia, Peru, Myanmar, and India. It took some creativity, but it can be done! He is now excited to bring these experiences to the classroom and inspire students to follow their own dreams.
In his free time, he enjoys literature, films, and an array of musical genres. He also loves spending time outdoors surfing on the coast or hiking in the mountains.
