What Matters to Us

Exhibition Night

People are our greatest strength. A spirit of caring and collaboration define our people and culture. We are greater together than we are on our own.

Learning in the real world

At Da Vinci, students master academic content through real-world projects and gain valuable workplace skills through internships and work experience. Our model delivers hands-on educational experiences designed to connect academic coursework with real world context -- both inside and outside the classroom.

Connecting the education to employment pipeline

We follow a dual track approach to learning -- all students simultaneously prepare for college and careers via a project-based, college-prep curriculum that incorporates career technical education and real world experiences aligned to workplace needs.

Much of what we do (at Northrop Grumman) has never been previously invented. Success requires creative thinking, working together as a group, bringing strengths together, collaborating. For what we do,there is not an answer at the end of the book. Da Vinci is training its young people to problem-solve, to think creatively and strategically -- these are the building blocks that are needed to thrive in an entrepreneurial 21st century workplace.   -- Art Lofton, (Retired) Sector Vice President Global Mission Excellence, Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems

Leveraging external partnerships

We have professional partnerships with many industry, higher education, and nonprofit leaders who ensure our curriculum is up-to-date and our students have the skill sets needed for college and careers. Our partners help us design authentic real-world projects, host workplace tours, serve as guest speakers, provide skills-based internships and work experience opportunities, mentor students, serve on project pitch panels and advisory boards, provide direct funding, and much more.

Opportunity, equity and access

Our mission is to level the playing field for those who have the least. Just 11% of low income kids who enroll in college end up graduating. There are 7 million unfilled jobs in the U.S. because workers don't have the skills employers need. We aim to close the opportunity and skills gap so all students become happy, independent adults.

Delivering impact at scale

Our goal is to radically transform education through real world learning practices, innovative new school models, and personalized learning. We have served as a best practice demonstration site for LAUSD and for thousands of visiting educators from around the globe. We are open source. We share the good.  LEARN MORE >
