Service learning is the lens in which students can gain access to community service and learn about their civic responsibility, and the need to strengthen communities through service learning activities. Da Vinci's service learning program is administered through our Real World Learning program.

High school students are required to complete 10 hours of Service Learning per semester for a total of 80 hours by the time they graduate in order to:

  • Engage in projects that serve the community
  • Build students' social and academic capacities through volunteerism

Service learning projects can be student-created to address a need in their community or be volunteer opportunities with registered non-profits.

Da Vinci high schools do not have a volunteer service "hours" requirement. for parents and guardians. Rather, families are required to regularly attend school events and volunteer for school-related activities. Learn more...

The Da Vinci Innovation Academy does not have a volunteer or service hours requirement.
