Da Vinci Schools Granted
Full WASC Accreditation

Wohoo

LOS ANGELES, CA (May 12, 2010) -- Da Vinci Schools are proud to announce that we are now fully accredited by the Schools Commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).  Da Vinci Design and Da Vinci Science have been granted a 4-year term of accreditation retroactive to the opening of the schools in August 2009 and continuing through June 30, 2013.

"This is a remarkable achievement for our young schools.  We are thrilled that the accreditation committee recognized our high-quality learning environment and our supportive partnerships with local businesses and corporations. Our WASC accreditation is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, faculty, staff, families, board members, and community partners," said Dr. Nicole Tempel, Da Vinci Schools' Principal.

In addition to the areas of strength noted above, the WASC Visiting Committee found that Da Vinci Schools have developed a system to serve students with different learning needs; we have a clear sense of purpose and direction; parents and students feel valued and connected to our schools; students are happy and productive; and teachers have positive attitudes about students and their learning, providing students with high levels of self-confidence.

As part of the evaluation, Dr. David Brown, WASC's Executive Director, visited Da Vinci Schools in February to meet with school constituents and to verify the information in our self-study.

WASC is one of six regional associations that accredit public and private schools, colleges, and universities in the United States. WASC accreditation is a voluntary process that provides a certification to the public that schools must be worthy of the trust placed in them to provide high-quality learning opportunities and clearly demonstrate continual self-improvement.

Graduation from an accredited high school is required by most colleges and universities and financial aid institutions.

We are thrilled with the recognition that this accreditation brings us, and we will continue our commitment to ensuring that all of our students graduate college-ready, career-prepared, and community-minded
